Parental Irritability & Capacity
I get irritated with my child and am always angry; I can't be gentle.
Are you blaming yourself for getting irritated? It's a sign that your margin has run out, not that you're a bad parent. In common: with lack of sleep, isolation, or piled-up burdens, anyone loses their margin. First, the parent's own rest and support are the foundation. When you're about to snap, leaving the spot for a few breaths, letting go of perfection, and having someone take over briefly all help. A guide: "are you getting rest?" "are you carrying it alone?" Even on days you can't be gentle, the parent-child bond doesn't break. When low mood or anger persists strongly, lean on a consultation service or professional.
