Choosing a Therapy Program
There are so many kinds of therapy that I can't decide which suits my child.
With many options it's confusing. In common: there isn't one right answer—what fits changes with the child's difficulties, age, and compatibility. Clues for choosing: (1) does it fit what you most want to support now (language, movement, behavior, life)? (2) does the child seem to enjoy it and can they attend easily? (3) is it an evidence-based method (be wary of claims like "guaranteed cure")? (4) try it and see the fit with the child. What the family decides: what to weight is your choice. A guide: "can the child attend without strain?" "can goals be shared?" You can change if it doesn't fit, so start from a trial. Having a support coordinator help you sort it out is also effective.
