HugMap FAQ
Prioritizing Therapies

There are too many places to attend besides the hospital (PT, ST, OT). What should I prioritize?

They all seem important, and deciding priority is hard. In common: prioritizing what's most troubling in current life, what relates to safety, and what's most burdensome for the child and family tends to make effects easier to feel. Having the professionals share goals with each other helps sort out overlap and excess. What the family decides: "everything properly" or "narrow it and keep it manageable" is your choice. A guide: "what's most troubling in current life?" "is it an amount the family can sustain?" You don't have to do it all perfectly. It's fine to tell the providers, "I'd like to decide priorities together."
