What does it mean to treat a child with a disability as an equal friend?
It means a relationship where, without special treatment or excessive holding back, you can invite, decline, and share opinions just like with other friends. It includes not only matching what they can't do, but enjoying their strengths and likes together, and both being able to say "no" to things they dislike.
For a child, you could say: "It's the same as other friends. Play together, and be able to say 'no' to each other about things you don't like—that's an equal friend."
