Is it good to teach my child to "help them"?
"Help them" is, even with good intent, wording that easily creates a "helper and helped" hierarchy. Teaching equal ways of relating—"if they look stuck, ask 'want some help?'" and "watch over what they can do"—grows a better relationship for both.
For a child, you could say: "Instead of always helping, if they look stuck, try asking 'want some help?'"
