Asking the Child
Is it okay to ask the child about their disability?
Convey that asking out of interest isn't bad in itself, but teach not to keep pressing and to stop if they dislike it. Add that there are things they may not want to talk about.
For a child, you could say: "It's okay to ask, but if they seem to dislike it, let's stop. There are things they may not want to talk about, so don't push."
