Anxiety About the Future
My child seems happy, but only I worry about the future.
Worrying about the future is natural as a parent. In common: the child being able to enjoy "now" is actually a great strength, and a foundation for the future. Worry becomes a force when turned into preparation (knowing information, connections, systems), but if you're swallowed by anxiety you can lose the ability to enjoy the present. What the family decides: how far to look ahead and how much to cherish "now" is your choice. A guide: "is worry sacrificing 'now'?" "do you have someone to consult your anxiety with?" Savoring the child's "happy now" together is also solid preparation for the future.
