Preparing for the Future

Do I need to have my child practice even things they aren't troubled by, for the future?

A hard question with no single answer. In common: there are indeed things (life skills, safety, communication) that are easier if built early, to widen future options. On the other hand, forcing practice of things the child isn't troubled by can sap motivation and confidence. What the family decides: which to weight—preparing for the future or today's security and motivation—is your choice. A guide: "is it truly needed for future life, safety, or options?" "what's the burden now?" "can't it be woven naturally into play and daily life?" Rather than "as training," little by little within daily life is often realistic.
