Working with Preschool
The daycare says there are no problems, but at home my child cries or gets angry after coming back. What should I share with the daycare?
After working hard at daycare, the tiredness can show up at home, where they feel safe. First, right after they get home, don't jump in with questions or tasks—try a routine that helps them recover, like water, a light snack, and some quiet time. Rather than telling the daycare "there's a problem," share concrete details: what time it happens, what happened just before, how long it takes them to settle, and what responses helped. Ask which times of day or activities the tiredness shows up at daycare. Instead of which is right—home or daycare—gather clues by looking at the flow of the whole day.
