Morning Routines
In the morning, even when I say "get dressed, brush your teeth, get your bag," my child stops partway. Is there a way to help them move along on their own?
Holding several instructions in mind while carrying them out is a big load, so give just one at a time. Lay out "get dressed → brush teeth → get bag" with photos or pictures and have them flip each one over as it's done—this makes what's next easier to see. On busy days, don't insist they do everything by themselves; decide which parts they choose and which parts you help with. Preparing clothes and belongings the night before, to reduce morning decisions, is also effective.
