What is inclusive education? Is "being in the same place as everyone" the goal?

The goal isn't just the place, it's participation and learning. The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities makes children with and without disabilities learning together an international principle. Inclusion isn't merely being in the same classroom (integration); it's having support suited to each individual so that the child is participating and learning. It's different from "putting up with fitting in with everyone." The systems differ by country and region, but the idea of "setting up the environment so the child can participate" is shared worldwide.
