Assessment, Support & When to Start Therapy
When I'm worried about developmental delay, where should I turn first?
Start with one of these: 1) your infant/toddler health checkup (public health nurse), 2) your regular pediatrician, or 3) your city or town's parenting and development consultation desk. From there, you'll be connected to a developmental clinic or child development support as needed. If you find yourself thinking, "Is it really okay to bring this up?", that itself is a sign that it's okay to reach out. You can use your local support desk even without a referral letter.
