Pace of Development & Comparing
What are the developmental "domains"? Is it okay to have differences from one domain to another?
Development is looked at across domains such as gross motor (the body), fine motor (the hands), language, cognition (thinking skills), social skills, and daily living skills. It's completely normal for these domains to progress at different rates, and having ups and downs is not a sign that something is wrong. Once you understand the shape of those ups and downs, you can plan a strategy that uses your child's strengths as a doorway to nurturing the areas they find harder.
