Pace of Development & Comparing
Is it okay to skip developmental steps in order? (e.g., walking without crawling)
Rearranging or skipping the order, like starting to walk without crawling, is common. What matters is whether each ability is developing, such as "can move on their own" and "can sit and play with both hands." You don't need to worry too much based solely on whether a specific step happened. If something concerns you, see a physical therapist or pediatrician.
