Lying, Tummy Time & Crawling
Does my child have to crawl?
It's not required. In 2022, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) removed "crawling" from its developmental checklist. There are many ways of getting around—belly-crawling, bottom-shuffling, or standing up and walking right away—and any of them is fine. What matters is "being able to move on their own"; the method doesn't matter.
