Posture & Body Foundations
Why does my child's posture collapse and attention drift so quickly?
For a child with low muscle tone, simply maintaining a seated posture can require substantial effort. Fatigue may look like restlessness or poor attention even when the child is trying hard. Start by improving physical support: use a chair that supports the pelvis and back, place both feet on the floor or a footrest, and adjust the table to a comfortable height. Offer movement and position changes before fatigue becomes overwhelming. Seek professional advice if sitting is painful, markedly asymmetrical, or limits participation.
