Sitting & Posture
My child doesn't play while sitting
Sitting itself may not yet leave them any spare capacity—holding the posture might be all they can manage. Place a toy they're interested in right in front of them to make sitting time enjoyable. As their sitting becomes steadier, they'll naturally start to play.
Adjust the chair to a height where the soles of the feet rest firmly on the floor (avoid high chairs where the feet dangle; use a footrest to adjust). With the back straight and weight felt on the heels, they'll be more stable.
