Lying, Tummy Time & Crawling

Ways of getting around vary from child to child, such as belly-crawling, bottom-shuffling, or standing up and walking right away. What matters is "being able to move on their own"; the method doesn't matter.
If a way to move independently (including belly-crawling or bottom-shuffling) is slow to appear, don't just wait and see—talk with a checkup provider or a physical therapist.
