Dressing (Buttons & Zippers)

What if my child cannot push a button through the buttonhole?

Begin with a large button and contrasting fabric where the buttonhole is easy to see. Practice the component actions first: threading through a large opening, pushing part of the button through, and pulling it from the other side. Progress from threading play to a large-button fabric toy and then to loose clothing placed in front of the child before practising on clothing they are wearing.
