HugMap FAQ
Eating (Spoon & Spills)

What if my child cannot scoop food with a spoon?

Start with foods that stay on the spoon, such as thick yogurt or mashed potato, rather than foods that crumble or roll away. A deeper bowl with a raised or inward-curving edge can make scooping easier. If help is needed, support only the scooping movement and let your child bring the spoon to their mouth when safe. Choose utensils and seating that match your child's motor and feeding needs.
