Games with Rules & Winning/Losing
When your child gets angry or cries when they lose
Frustration is a sign of growth, but first empathize with the feeling ("It's frustrating to lose, isn't it?"). Start with cooperative games that have no winners or losers, and when you do play win-or-lose games, keep them short with a quick chance to try again. Have the adult deliberately lose and model bouncing back: "Aw, I lost! Let's play again!"
