When your child can't tell shapes apart
Beyond just looking, let them feel the difference by touching and tracing the outlines. Start by comparing two contrasting shapes like a circle and a square, and experiencing "it fits / it doesn't fit" with a large shape sorter helps too. A "collect the same shape" game lets you check whether they can tell them apart.
