When there's little shared joy

The moment they succeed or discover something, show big, over-the-top delight as the adult. "Amaaazing!" with a clap or a high five. The ability to share joy with another person isn't something you teach—it's "contagious." When your child comes to show you something, always stop what you're doing and respond with all your heart.
