Managing Emotions & Behavior
When your child gets overexcited easily
For a child who gets excited easily, a predictable routine is the best steadying influence. Keep the flow before and after play the same each time, and decide on cool-down methods in advance, such as dimming the lights or moving to a quiet room when they start getting worked up. Speaking slowly in a low voice also helps.
