When my child doesn't respond to being played with
Even if the response is faint, it doesn't necessarily mean it isn't getting through. Many children take time to respond, so the trick is to wait 5 to 10 seconds after engaging them. Vary the type of stimulation—tickling, swaying, singing—to find that child's "favorite." If you continue to feel worried, talk about it at a checkup.
