When my child only looks at certain things

Having things they love is a strength. Line up new things nearby to create chances for them to come into view. Slowly moving a favorite thing to guide their gaze toward a new thing is also effective. Rather than forcibly taking things away, use their "favorites" as an entryway to widen their world.
