Eye Contact & Following Gaze

When your child's eyes don't follow a moving object

Move things as slowly as you possibly can, and use toys with strong contrast such as black and white. The golden rule is to first get them to focus firmly straight ahead, then start moving it. Before they can hold their head up, following with just the eyes is hard, so it's fine to keep sessions short.
