When your child can't let go at the spot they want to place it
Gently letting go at a target spot is a surprisingly hard movement. Guide their hand from behind and place it together, and say "there!" at the moment of release. Larger, stable blocks make success easier, and praising the moment they place it helps their body learn the "timing of letting go."
