When my child reaches but can't quite reach the toy
Place a large, easy-to-grip toy just barely within reach. First build up the success of "if I reach, I can touch it," and increase the distance little by little after that. When your child looks about to give up before reaching, it's fine to move the toy a bit closer for them.
