If tracking objects with the eyes is difficult

Move a toy that makes sound, lights up, or has strong contrast slowly left and right, about 30 cm in front of their face. If it's too fast, their eyes can't keep up. The golden rule is "get their attention first, then move it." If a strong bias continues—like being extremely poor at one direction only—an eye doctor's check can also be reassuring.
