Understanding Language (Instructions & Questions)
What if my child can't understand two-word phrases?
When "give it to Daddy" is hard, first check whether your child understands each word, "Daddy" and "give," on its own. Once they understand the individual words, practicing with a real object and an action helps their understanding of two-word combinations grow.
