Understanding Language (Instructions & Questions)
What if my child doesn't follow directions?
Double directions like "put your shoes on and grab your bag" can be hard. Give one short instruction at a time, adding the real object or a gesture. Praise them when they finish one step before moving to the next. If directions repeatedly don't get through, it's also worth checking whether your child can hear well and is paying attention.
