Before Words (Babbling & Responses)
When your child doesn't respond to facial expressions
Bring your face to about 30 cm (12 inches) away and change your expression big and slow. Reading subtle changes in expression is still hard, so make "smile!" and "surprise!" exaggerated, paired with your voice. Waiting a few seconds for a response to come is also key.
