When your child doesn't anticipate patterns
Repeat the same game, like "peekaboo," many times with the same flow. As it repeats, the anticipation of "here's what comes next" develops, and you'll see expressions and body movements of eager waiting. Even when the adult gets bored, the child is often right in the middle of learning the pattern.
